Ego Dance Song Release
Ego Dance by Tovan: Make You Dance with the Word Sequence
Today, June 20, 2025, Ego Dance by Tovan was released as a form of his consistency who is ready to release a song every week for Dimulti Music as a hip hop producer.
Ego Dance by Tovan was released as his third single with Dimulti Music, after two weeks in a row of previously released Swim in the Dark and Midnight Drive.
Still dark and gloomy, but this time Ego Dance by Tovan appears a little different from the previous two singles. As the title implies, this song can move your head or even your body a little to the rhythm of the music.
Through Ego Dance, Tovan invites us to dance with our ego, which is like a wolf in silence that moves when the world is disturbed by the truth of your loud words.
Opening with a chorus that is quite striking, without an intro Tovan immediately makes a statement about how time continues to move in circles without being able to stop and wait, but the spin is not what we want.
“Time, waiting always on your side / It can always let you down / And just keeps on going, round, round, round”
The chorus is sweetly sung, until 15 seconds later you are given a fairly fast beat with a trap rhythm accompanied by Balinese gamelan notes that provide a different ambiance. In this song, Tovan embeds elements of Indonesian culture, by playing Balinese gamelan notes from the beginning of the song.
Listening to Ego Dance by Tovan provides a different experience, you will be invited to dance up and down with dynamics that are quite interesting to enjoy.
Not only is the song accompanied by music that can make you dance but it is also accompanied by beautiful words that are in sequence.
What steals the show is when Tovan includes Shakespeare in his lyrics. He writes with weight, lingering lines, and lines that go deep like poetry.
“Quote me like Shakespeare, vibe like Blade / Sharp in the shade”
In the Ego Dance song lyrics by Tovan, there are several characters other than Shakepere, namely Tony Montana from Scarface and Chris Tucker.
Tovan depicts a desperate confidence, loud, brave, full of ego and danger like Tony. His fast, flashy, and unpredictable self is portrayed by Chris' flashy moves, especially his Rush Hour energy.
The song will surprise you again before it gets to the end. Tovan writes Arabic poetry that alludes to dualism, truth, and the human ego.
Tovan's Arabic lyrics mean "Good and evil are two paths in one eye, which does not see the light before it enters the shadow. Truth does not shout but burns everything that cannot receive its light. He who considers himself holy forgets that mud is the basis of all living creation."
According to Tovan, the lyrics are inspired by the understanding and culture he learned between non-dualistic (Advaita) philosophy, Eastern spirituality, and Sufism.
Ego Dance by Tovan is a Hip-hop/R&B song straight from the world of the mind with no filters and no frontin'. The song according to Tovan is a tension between power and peace, ego and essence.
This song is perfect for those of you who have been idle for too long, you can dance to it by imagining the lights of a midnight city.
Ego Dance Song Lyrics by Tovan
Time, waiting always on your side
It can always let you down
And just keeps on going, round, round, round
Came from the dirt, now I’m lit like a Big
Now they ride on my shit
Talkin’ like Tony, movin’ like Chris
Just powder and her lips
Real life: I’m the glitch in the Matrix
Neo’s a blade, face full of hatred
Grew out the mud like a black rose
Now my wrist talk back like Alexa knows
Man talk tough, move like a runner
I’m calm, still hot like summer
Dripped in none, no stutter
Got her wet, ain’t even touch her
Walk in lookin’ like vengeance
Mind on cash, heart in ascension
Quote me like Shakespeare, vibe like Blade
Sharp in the shade
Crown heavy, yeah, I carry that bitch
Ego ain’t come with a switch
Power in my words, make the whole world glitch
You talkin’ ’bout my shit
While I got double this pitch
Fuck a throne, I’m the storm in the palace
Hail like I came from malice
Play no games, no need for a chalice
Time, waiting always on your side
It can always let you down
And just keeps on going, round, round, round
(I saw you dancin’ with your ego again
Talkin’ like God but you build with your sin
All of that fire, it’s burnin’ your skin)
Hoo, yeah
Hoo, yeah
Hoo, yeah
Hoo
No stylist, chains, no mask
Still got presence, crack your glass
Time don’t wait and ain’t got a liar
Fuck your fame, we just need our lairs
You know where wolves don’t bark
They just come bite in pairs
Ain’t got time for a fake cosign
These man just repeat old lines
Crown heavy, yeah, I carry that bitch
Ego ain’t come with a switch
Power in my words, make the whole world glitch
You talkin’ ’bout my shit
While I got double this pitch
Fuck a throne, I’m the storm in the palace
Hail like I came from malice
Play no games, no need for a chalice
I move like Lelouch, mask off for truth
Built in the dark, now I speak for youth
Came from nothin’, now I’m breakin’ the loop
Ain’t no role model, just the proof
Fuck they love, don’t beg for praise
Crowns in my scars, pain my base
Ain’t drill, ain’t rap, bloodline phase
Talkin’ my shit till buried in grace
Time, waiting always on your side
It can always let you down
And just keeps on going, round, round, round
I saw you dancin’ with your ego again
Talkin’ like God but you build with your sin
Who do you hurt when you always must win?
