Cambodia’s telecommunications market is growing rapidly, with various telecommunications companies operating there. Therefore, if you’re one of the ICT product manufacturers who want to market your product to Cambodia, it is important to obtain TRC certification.
TRC is the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia. By obtaining TRC certification, you can sell your product to the Cambodia legally.

Cambodia TRC Certification Process

The Cambodia TRC certification does not require local testing. Instead, product approval can be obtained through a simplified documentation process, which includes reviewing existing Radio Frequency (RF), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) reports, Safety Reports or CB Cert & CB Reports, Health or EMF or SAR Test Reports, and Certificate of Conformity or EU.
This approach allows for the acceptance of international standards, such as CE, FCC, ANATEL, and others, as part of the certification requirements. This flexibility enables products already certified in other markets to gain approval in Cambodia without needing additional local testing.
This process involves some steps that confirm a device’s compliance with local regulatory requirements:
- Application Submission: Applicants are required to submit a complete application to the TRC, which includes technical specifications, test reports, and relevant certificates.
- Testing and Compliance Assessment: The TRC reviews the submitted documentation and may request in-country testing to confirm compliance with local regulations.
- Issuance of Type Approval Certificate: After successful evaluation, the TRC grants a type approval certificate, permitting the device to be sold and used in Cambodia.
Lead time, price, and validity

- Lead time: Based on the official lead time specified in the TRC’s circular, which is 15 working days after the application is accepted.
- Price per application: 450 USD (for lead time up to 5 working days) and 500 USD (for express)
- Validity: The TA certificate has no expiration date and cannot be requested for modification. One certificate is per one model and one country of origin.
Key points

- The TRC’s responsibility is to ensure that Cambodia’s telecommunications industry is properly regulated, competitive, and secure.
- The TRC accepts test reports that comply with either CE or FCC standards.
- The TRC-type approval certificate remains valid indefinitely.
- There are no specific labeling requirements for devices with TRC Type Approval.
Meeting the TRC certification requirements is an important step for telecommunications and electronic equipment manufacturers to ensure that their products are ready to be marketed in Cambodia.
Following the TRC certification process can guarantee the safety and quality of their products.
