The Label Requirements for Malaysia SIRIM Certification

The Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000 issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on label requirements for Malaysia SIRIM certification is described in part III on Communications Equipment. Precisely described in regulation number 7 point 6 b on Application for Registration. Here is the content of the regulation:
7. Application for Registration
(6) If the application is approved, the registration of the applicant as a certifying agency shall be subject to the following conditions:
(b) that the type of certification marks or labels, or certificates or other certification indicators issued by the registered certifying agency and, where applicable, the manner of affixing it to a communications equipment shall be in accordance with the specifications set out by the Commission;
For every certified ICT product in Malaysia, it is required to affix an MCMC label. This label consists of Three components: A triangular mark with MCMC inscription and the identification ID of the manufacturer of the certificate holder underneath. Below is the format:

Labels for SIRIM Malaysia certification are required for the import process, but the label stickers can be attached to the goods after or before the Customs process.
Label registration and payment can be accessed through Dagangnet, a different entity from SIRIM. Label registration is based on IMEI or Serial Number per product.
Label stickers are attached to the product or maybe digital (e-label) depending on conditions. It can also be posted on the packaging or on the warranty letter but requires a statement to be submitted to SIRIM.
Improper Certification Marks or Labels of Communications Equipment
The Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000 issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on label requirements for Malaysia SIRIM certification is described in part III on Communications Equipment. Precisely described in regulation number 17 on Improper Certification Marks or Labels of Communications Equipment. Here is the content of the regulation:
17. Improper Certification Marks or Labels of Communications Equipment
(1) No person shall affix a certification mark or label to any communications equipment indicating that it complies with the standards—
(a) unless the communications equipment is certified; or
(b) if the person knows or reasonably knows that such an act is false or misleading.
(2) A person who contravenes subregulation (1) commits an offence.
