Lead Time for Vietnam MoST Certification

Local testing is the main method for obtaining a MoST certificate. However, the Paperwork method uses test reports from a lab that has a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) with Vietnam. Then the content of the test report must comply with the provisions provided by the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority (VNTA).
Radio Frequency (RF) testing for Vietnam MoST certification is mandatory. During the process, we need to send one normal sample for a local test based on QCVN standards. Lead time for the local testing process is around three weeks.
After receiving the RF test report, the documents will then be submitted for document evaluation by the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority (VNTA). If you pass the certification, the next thing to do is to make an e-payment for certification and wait for the certification to be issued. However, if it does not pass the evaluation, the missing documents must be completed and then re-evaluated by VNTA.
The lead time for Vietnam MoST certification by the paperwork route takes about 2-3 weeks, starting from the submission date to MoST. Hence, the MoST certificate can be obtained within 6 weeks.
Here are the paperwork application requirements:
- Product Specifications
- Product Photos
- RF Test Report (Local Testing or Foreign MRA Test Report)
- Test Instruction (For Local Testing)
- Application Form (Prepared by Agent)
In Vietnam, after processing the local testing and Type Approval (TA) certificate, is there any one document to process called a Self Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) to carry out the process of importing goods into Vietnam. The lead time does not include the arrangement for SDoC to import goods. Something to note is the SDoC is only valid for 1 batch import.
The process of making an SDoC is to submit all the required documents for evaluation, if it passes the evaluation, the SDoC will be approved and the process of importing goods can be carried out. However, if it does not pass the evaluation, the missing documents must be completed and then re-evaluated by MoST. The SDoC itself takes approximately 2 weeks to make.
Here are the SDoC application requirements:
- VNTA Certificate
- EMC Test Report
- Safety Test Report
- Self Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) Form
- Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to Local Importer (If the certificate holder is Foreign Manufacture)
