What is the Topic of the Public Comment for Malaysia MCMC Technical Codes

MCMC invited the Malaysian public to submit comments or opinions on the following draft Technical Codes (TCs) about MTSFB2409R3 Short Range Devices – Specifications (Third Revision) and MTSFB2411R0 Communications Equipment – Baseline Requirements
This Technical Code defines the technical requirements for Short Range Devices (SRDs) operating in the frequencies as defined in the relevant Standard Radio System Plans (SRSPs) and the latest Class Assignments issued by Malaysia MCMC. It shall replace the MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2020, Specification for Short Range Devices (SRD) (Second Revision).
The Last Technical Codes of Short Range Devices – Specifications

On May 6, 2020, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released its second update to the Short Range Devices (SRD) specifications.
This revision primarily adjusted the allowed frequency ranges and maximum power output for both general and specific SRD uses. It also introduced technical standards for new SRD technologies like Ultra-Wideband (UWB), inductive devices, and automotive radars.
These updates align with the latest Class Assignment No. 2 of 2019. Furthermore, the revised specifications include new safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements. Specifically, SRDs directly connected to service provider networks must adhere to safety standards such as MS IEC 60950-1 or IEC 62368-1.
Additionally, SRDs that connect to both an AC power source and service provider networks (directly or indirectly) must meet conducted emission standards like ETSI EN 301 489-1 or CISPR 32.
About Technical Codes of Communications Equipment – Baseline Requirements

MTSFB2411R0, the Malaysia Technical Codes of Communications Equipment – Baseline Requirements, details the essential technical standards that all communication devices must meet. This includes user devices, network infrastructure, and radio communication equipment. These standards address areas such as Radio Frequency (RF) performance, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), electrical safety, and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) to guarantee the equipment’s safety and operational quality.
That’s all the information about public comment for Malaysia MCMC technical codes about Short Range Devices and Communications that open from 22 April – 5 May 2025.
