Since 2008. We born to serve you for obtaining type approval certification of Radio (RF) / wireless and telecom products in Brazil.
Brazil is one of the world’s leading digital powers. This is due to its more than 117 million internet users and rapid growth, which is projected to reach US$43.3 billion by 2029.
This is undoubtedly linked to the massive adoption of 5G and aggressive digital transformation, making Brazil an attractive hub for investment in digital infrastructure and data centers. To access Brazil’s telecom and wireless markets, compliance with a regulatory requirement known as “ANATEL certification” is mandatory.
ANATEL stands for Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações in Portuguese. It is Brazil’s independent National Telecommunications Agency. It operates independently of other government agencies but holds the authority to grant licenses, regulate, and oversee the telecommunications sector in Brazil.
Obtaining ANATEL type approval certification can be challenging. However, there’s no need to worry—Dimulti Indonesia can be the right partner for you. We will guide you through the certification process smoothly and in line with your desired goals. Of course, this is all thanks to our experience, expertise, and extensive global network in the field of certification.
Brazil ANATEL Type Approval and Certification Process
ANATEL certification in Brazil requires a documentation review combined with local testing performed by ANATEL-accredited laboratories (OCD-accredited laboratories). This means that success depends on the local testing and the completeness of the documentation.
Due to the requirement for local testing, test samples will be needed. The number and type of samples will depend on the device specifications. The laboratory will analyze the submitted documents to determine the required samples.
Document Requirements
To obtain ANATEL certification, several document requirements must be met, including:
- Product technical documentation
- Test reports
- User manual in Portuguese
- Labels
- Declaration of conformity
- Power supply information
- Internal and external photos
- Schematics/diagrams
- Valid ISO 9001 certificate of the manufacturing site, issued in Portuguese or accompanied by a sworn (certified) translation into Portuguese
ANATEL Certificate Example

ANATEL Label Requirement
Certified telecom and wireless products must display the ANATEL Mark on the product. This label consists of three components: the ANATEL logo, a barcode, and an Approval ID.
The logo may be in color or black and white. Authorization from ANATEL is required for the use of a black-and-white label.
The following is an example of the ANATEL mark:

In addition to the logo, the Brazilian Type Approval Certificate must also include important information on the product or its packaging. The following information must be included:
- Approval Code or 12-digit unique code
- Model Name
- Brand or manufacturer
- Country of Origin
Scope of ANATEL Products
ANATEL certification is not limited to telecommunications products. However, this certification is also mandatory for all products that have telecommunications features or radio frequencies.
